Topic: Chained Certificate

Is it possible to install a chained certificate to SME 7? I bought a cheap one, and have tried to use every how to,(and some with for to's too), I can find. Every one causes problems.

My setup is about standard out of the box, however I did have to use the 'custom ssl how to' to get a cert back on the server from root.

I don't need to tie any one up in long explanations, just point me to a link that will work, with the search feature gone on this board, I'm lost.

Tried all the wiki search answers.

There is a comprehensive Search tool at the top of this Forum page (for searching the forums).

I lost the forums search box a week or so ago... could I not be seeing it because I use Fire Fox?

I have tried the ones on the wiki, but will keep on keeping on, and will also check out your provided links!

It's not a search box but a search link, between FAQ and Memberlist.
I just tried Firefox 1.5.0.6 and I can see the link there OK.
There is no need to be logged in either.

Thanks for the info.. I following all leads.. and that one looks good. It is the one I started with, just need to figure all of it out. I can't figure if the server.csr file needs to be renamed back to server.key, and other issues..

I sure am glad I am doing this for fun... be in sad shape if I was doing it for the money..

Actually, it is a way to keep the grey matter from getting stale...

My understanding is..

• Create a key.
• Use the key to create a csr.
• Send the csr to the CA and get a certificate (crt).

Maybe you want to follow the howto and take a test run with a CAcert free certificate.

Then come back to your paid one.

Still at it boys and girls.. tried all the howtos, and am on full install... 6,7?

The key to this mess is somewhere in /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf fragments '35xxxxx', espically 35SSL10SSLCertificateChainFile.

I may be off on the spelling due to the bullet holes I have put in the moniter. I tried the howto that made a custom template for this fragment, but still no go.

 /etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/35SSL10SSLD

It says to use this text.

SSLCACertificateFile /etc/httpd/conf/ca.txt

However, my file's name is sf_issued.crt.  

Being new to this, sould I changet the file name or the template syntax, one of the other?
