We just upgraded our server from version 6 to 7 because we were having problems with version 6 locking up occasionally. Thankfully version 7 fixed that problem but now we have a new problem that I'm not sure how to deal with.
We use our server to host an e-commerce site so a purchased security certificate is a must since most customers are extremely wary of self signed security certificates, and rightly so. I keep a copy of the certificate we purchased on a separate computer as backup, of course, so once the upgrade was done I copied our certificates and key file to the appropriate places in the server as noted in the instructions for installing a certificate from InstantSSL found in these forums. Our problem is that we now seem to have to copy the certificate and key files back to the server on an almost daily basis. It seems like every day when I first access the secure part of our web site I get a certificate error and examining the certificate reveals it to be one created by SME instead of the one issued to us by InstantSSL. We only had to install the purchased certificate once when we were using SME6. Can anyone tell me why SME7 keeps overwriting our purchased security certificate with its own self generated one? More importantly can anyone tell me how to make it stop?
