Can't access Server Manager
« on: October 27, 2006, 05:46:38 PM »
:?:  :?: All the sudden I can't access the server manager. I am running Sme 7.0Final. When I try to access it from a browser on the internet, I get an "Error 403". I can access it via SSH (using Putty) with no problem. Can someone shed some light on this? Why would this all the sudden quit working? Everything else on the server works fine (except tape backup, but that is a different issue. SME 7.0 apparently don't like my tape drive). Please help!!!

Thanks,

You may write down how is your internet link, and check out (from the outside) if you see port 80 then 443 and how it see with, for example nmap. 8)

If you have workaround for this situation please share it to me..

this is the error that i get from my browser ..

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /server-manager/ on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

as i know, i didn't change my setting.. but suddently it happen

please help ..

Try to ping the IP on your SME server from your LAN, see if it is visible by the pc you are using to access your server-manager...

I don't know if it is a good idea, someone here might advise you then...
# signal-event post-upgrade
# signal-event reboot

It happen to me last time, I issue the above command and it back to normal... don't know if this will work for you too.

Mike

Seach hear for "mod_rewrite ipcs". Basically, the system is out of semaphores and has apache hosed. Free up the semaphores and you'll be in good shape.

There is a bug raised for this. With luck it may get fixed soon. Or, if someone knows how to use the bugtracker, they could add this WAR there.
