It sure is...

Since I once wrote that HOWTO, I feel that I should be able to help you out...
From the HOWTO:
"Just make an ibay named "pdfdrop" and set the group permissions read and write to all users on your LAN"
Are you sure the permissions were set to ALL USERS???
1. Have you ever been able to connect to any ibay at all using that Win98 box?
2. If not, there surely has to do with you not using "plain text password" on your Win98. Pick up your Win98 CD, browse on it to /tools/mtsutils/ and RIGHT CLICK on the file "Ptxt_on.inf". Select "Install" in the drop down menu, reboot the box (it's a Win, remember...) and try again. If it works better now, it surely is a Samba-related issue...
3. If everything else fails, please send me your /etc.smb.conf so I can help you out....
Good luck!
