NFS client on SME Server 7.1
« on: January 02, 2007, 06:07:02 PM »
Hello, to backup my SME Server I usually mount a NFS share provided by an external storage server and do a desktop type backup - I mean, I save the same directories and resources saved by the "backup to desktop" from the server-manager panel.

On the 7.0 version, I kept the "old" nfs-utils-1.0.6-65.EL4 rpm, downloaded early from the CentOS 4.3 repository, even if it was updated lately to the 1.0.6-70.EL4 version.

This version wants to install libgssapi-0.8-1 and nfs-utils-lib-1.0.6-3 for dependencies reason, but I suspended the update not to risk breaking anything.

Now that SME Server 7.1 is a CentOS 4.4 system, I wonder if I have to do this update I delayed so long.

Does anybody use nfs-client on SME? Which version? Any problem?

There should be no reason not to use the CentOS 4.4 version with any depedencies it requires. SME 7.1 enables the CentOS base and updates repositories, so these dependencies will be satisfied automagically.
