Topic: HD usage

A couple of weeks ago I installed the System Monitor. Since then I noticed that the HD usage is constantly above 90%. The system is a Compaq Prosogina (Pentium 150) with 160Mb memory installed. The HD is a Compaq SCSI 3.7 Gb wich is over 80% used. I rebooted the server recently and nothing has changed about the HD usage. Is there an explanation for this behaviour wich I think schould not be normal?

Well, the HD usage reports how full the hard drive is.  If you haven't deleted anything, it will remain just as full as it was.

I thought it said something about how much activity was detected on the hard drive. Remains the question why is my hard drive spinning all the time (i hear the disk and the activity led is blinking)

If the HDD seems to be accessed around once every 30 seconds or so (I've never acually bothered to measure it so you'll have to excuse my guesstimation), then it's the normal logging etc. of SME.

A search of this board may reveal people who've changed the settings for this.
