[Selintra SAIL] Long time to establish trunk
« on: November 24, 2006, 11:38:49 PM »
I'm using Selintra SAIL (344) and BroadVoice for my VoIP provider. I am able to establish a trunk connection thanks to the new BroadVoice definition in 344, but it seems to take a heck of a long time. I would like to be able to hit the Commit button and have it connect in seconds, but in fact it takes about half an hour. Same thing when rebooting the server. Is this normal? If not, what is?

Thanks,

-P

Hi dtech

Not sure what you mean here.  Do you mean it takes a long time before you can make and receive calls across the trunk?... or something else?

Registration/connection to a SIP router/carrier is usually very fast (not much more than than the ping time), however we've never tried Broadvoice so we can't comment.  Broadvoice requires registration so you can check whether you are registered by doing
Code: [Select]
sip show registry at the asterisk console.

Let us know how you get on.

Kind Regards
