Trac for SME server
« on: December 10, 2006, 11:54:55 PM »
Is there a contrib available for SME that implements the TRAC issue tracking system?

I like to use TRAC with my subversion repositories (even if I don't need the ticketing capability) as I think its an excellent font-end for subversion.

If there is nothing available, is there much interest in a TRAC contrib being developed?

I like the interface & ease of use of the smeserver-subversion 1.1 contrib by cactus and so I was thinking of developing something with a similar look/feel.

Even better would be to incorporate TRAC into the smeserver-subversion 1.1 contrib by cactus (or create a new combined contrib) so each repository created also had a TRAC project generated automatically.

I'm very much a novice Linux/SME user (I've had the server running for a few weeks now ... this is my first real foray into the linux world) so I would probably need some assistance in the development but I'm ready to learn!

I have not used TRAC and have limited time, so I invite you to have a go if you are willing to implement something. I would advise you to write a seperate contrib as I don't think not all users of the smeserver-subversion plugin need TRAC. As all subversion repositories have there own key in the accounts database I don't think it is hard to access them for your track contrib.

Using the server-manager you can then show a list of repositories and let the user choose if they are interested in a TRAC site as well.
