Clamd not scanning emails. Spamassassin is working properly.
« on: December 24, 2006, 04:15:07 AM »
I am running SME 7.0 and in the Server-Manager/Configuration/E-mail  I have all of the E-mail filters switched on. Clamd/Freshclam are updating correctly (0.88.6/2371/Sat Dec 23 22:33:38 2006). Clamd also scans the system weekly correctly but the incoming mail isn't checked. What are the steps to check where it is broken?

Thanks.

What evidence do you have that incoming mail is not checked?

If you think the system might be broken, you should report via the Bug Tracker.

Sorry for the confusion. I sent an email with the 'eicar_com.zip' virus signature attached and it was refused acceptance. Looks like it is working it just doesn't report such. :D

There are 2 ways you could see its working, 1 is by checking the /var/log/qpsmtpd/current - The second is that you could have a mailstat report that is emailed to the "admin" which reports what is blocked and how many...

Edit - Also could you put [SOLVED] in subject so others will know. Thanks!
