Topic: SME + Fetchmail + Hosting account as an email backup system?

Hello, I am planning this scenario for a contingence plan, and
I wanted to share it with you to see if you think it would be feasible.

We have a webhosting account (one of those with CPanel, etc..)
and a SME Server for email.

The reason for this setup is that web page loading is faster from the webhosting service than from our SME Server.

However I have a lot of unusued disk space in the hosting account, and I was thinking that I could use it to store emails when our leased line becomes unavailable.

Could I put my hosting email server as MX 20 and our SME server as MX 10 and use the integrated Fetchmail feature to download emails?

Will the Fetchmail and normal email server feature of SME work at the same time? Or using fetchmail disables something.

I have done this,

Just setup forwarding at your hosting service.
  abc@mydomain.ext  -->  abc@smeserver.mydomain.ext

   1.  The hosting service handles the spam and viruses
   2.  They hold the mail until your leased line comes back up
