It would be nice to have nut send an email to an outside email address when a power outage has occurred (and the server shuts down).

"Outside email address" means an address possibly not in the same domain as the server, for example an admin's cell phone. As gordonr suggests in the thread, adding an "AlternateEmail" property to notify is a good idea.
