can somebody suggest what hardware configuration is required for SME7 to support 25000 email users.

A shot in the dark...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core - at least 4600+
2gb RAM

2or more 300GB SATA HDD's

Gigabit network cards at least to a switch, you're gonna need the speed...


PS--  Where the heck are you putting this server in to manage 25k users?

after reading this http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2139#c5 it seems that running either Xeon or Opteron Chips would be better suited...

Allthough, I might be biased, but hang with AMD, recent installation of SME7.1 on an Intel machine took ages because of RedHat not having 100% compatibility with damn Core2Duo's...  Haven't had a single problem on AMD's...
