I'm new to SME, this is my first install but I have been using various GNU/Linux distros for about 5 years now.
I've just installed a copy of SME7.1 and it doesn't appear to recognise the DLink DG528T. There is a post that says you can use a realtek chipset drive if you just modify the id in the binary but I don't know what editor to use.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?p=2313447#post2313447I tried hexedit but its not installed! With no network connection I can't get it easily either!
Any suggestions how I can do this (other than buying a new card).
Also any suggestions as to what Gbit PCI cards there are available (in the UK) that work with SME? The above post suggests that this card will be supported when the kernel goes to 2.6.10. As its on 2.6.9 now any ideas how long before its supported natively?
