I cannot access webmail from outside of local network. The ports 993 and 995 are open (checked by external probes), and accessing the webmail from local network https://192.168.1.250/webmail works fine. Don't know what else to try. This is quite a basic thing and should work outright out of the box. I posted this already but no answer.

Accessing webmail from outside is on port 443 so is that port shown as open?

Also are you running in serveronly mode or server and gateway mode?

PROBLEM ON MY SIDE SOLVED.
It was a config.php file referring to 192.168.1.250 ( internal host ) as the live site instead of the external link ).

Hi ,

I have the same problem with my webserver ( no webmail ).
I can FTP etc etc.. but no HTTP !
I can do everything correctly from within a LAN ( 192.168.x.x ) but as soon as the IP is from the outside, EVEN LOCALLY , then it fails. I know it's not the NAT router hardware ( tries 3 different routers, changed cables etc ) I connected my laptop on the WAN port of the router, thus imitating a direct outside host, and it fails, so it's not the ISP either.

So :
- not the ISP
- not the router
- not the cabling

I think it's a security setting somewhere that only allows internal hosts ( trusted lan ) to display webpages correctly. I know that the router is correctly setup because I do see some 'basic' html page, just not the fancy PHP pages that are coupled to my MySQL pages.

Please help, I posted this in another thread too together with my configuration data

EDIT : Narrowed it down to being a Joomla / security / user config error.
Strange thing is that WITHIN the 192.168.x.x everything works, nothing changed. Still another PHP part works well, under another userID

Rensel you already opened a topic about your last post and please stop hijacking this one because this is about webmail.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

The port is shown as open. Server only behind the Netgear FVS318 firewall. Nothing has changed since I upgraded to 7.1 from 6.5 except the ports are opened.

I was stupid, the port 443 was NOT open. Now it's open and all works. Thank you.
