THe Compaq SMART Array doesn't appear on the supported hardware list at
http://www.e-smith.net/, so it looks like you might have some trouble.
Perhaps you should join the developers mailing list - devinfo@e-smith.net. I'm sure that the e-smith server/gateway can be made to work on your hardware, but it will take some engineering. That might be a good place to ask for that kind of advice.
