how to filter email I wish to auto-forward?
« on: February 07, 2007, 06:13:50 PM »
I started using a BlackBerry and have configured things to "forward and delivery locally" via the web GUI. In conjunction with the BlackBerry email services, which are free, my INBOX mail arrives instantly on the new BB. It is hugely useful.

The issue is how to filter what I forward from the 7.1 server? I can establish one filter on the BB service, itself. But my SME INBOX utilizes perhaps 7 local (client) message filters which sort things into IMAP folders.

All I want is to send the new INBOX email, not everything that has worked its way through the SA and RBL, etc filters and is otherwise sorted by my various email client software.

So some manner of server-side fowarding filter, does it exist? How much of a hack would this be?

thanks

regards,
patrick

You could use procmail, I use that to filter mail into several folders. But the change to the .qmail file (| /usr/bin/procmail ~/.procmailrc) doesn't stick, it gets overwritten with a default .qmail-file when you reconfigure email. Procmail is already loaded.
