In the SME7 Manual, there are instructions for Adding another Hard Drive Later

-Shut down the machine
-Install drive as master on the second IDE channel (hdc)
-Boot up
-Log on as admin to get to the admin console
-Go to #5 Manage disk redundency

Does this mean, that when the 2nd drive is mounted, it will automatically be synced with the existing drive?  (Overwriting everything on the new drive.  Sounds dangerous)

Can the automatic build be disabled?   (I want to manually specify when and which disks to build into the RAID)

What happens if you have 2 drives a a 3rd is inserted, does it upgrade the RAID1 to RAID5?

1.) Yes it'll be synched. And no it's not dangerous (i have done it a couple of times). It's quite good and problem free. But the drives have to be of the same size.

2.) Yes it can if you install the sistem with noraid option.

Nothing is done unless you choose the "Manage disk redundancy" option in the console.
