installing joomla! on sme server
« on: February 12, 2007, 10:34:16 AM »
hello guys,

im trying to install joomla! on my sma server 7.1 and looks like i need to set some permissions to be able to do that. You can have a look at it at www.wasanabi.com. Just scroll down a bit where the it says Directory and File Permissions Check and you will see that all entries are Unwriteable.

Can someone please help me resolve this problem?! I have to tell you that im not really familiar with command line and step by step instructions would be more than welcome.

Thanks guys

Marko

If your not doing it for a learning exercise then try the rpm from http://www.dungog.net/sme/webapp.php#joomla

Well just ssh into your server and (this is the way i do it) run mc and you'll get a norton commander like screen. Go to your ibay and click on options (or something like that just find the chmod command). Then you just have to chmod (give correct write permissions) to your files.

Or you can use chmod command trough console.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!
