Comment 1 of bug 2256 perhaps might help you out.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than its worth ~ Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

Thanks for the advice & help.  I can see that the issue is already underway for a fix & don't believe I have enough knowledge to take part in reporting bugs as I may just be doing something wrong as opposed to there being a problem with the code...  It seems that the latest version of Samba has a fix so I will try install it, this will be my first attempt at installing anything appart from the initial install of the SME just to show how new I am to this

Hmm.. just reinstalled Vista (Ultimate... I used to have Enterprise) and I have struck another problem.

I have performed the fix of http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2256#c1.

I can browse to the shared Ibays using Windows, but the 'home' directories of the user I have logged in with are not visible.

Anyone point me in the direction (log?) to figure out what is going on?
