I have a fresh install of SME 7.1 and need to know the specifics on how to set up an email server. The url is www.skynetcountry.com and Godaddy.com presents me with this page for maintenance of my settings.I have never set up a mail server and any help is appreciated.

Please use the wiki and check the user manual.
Your posts (like "plese tell my how to set up my web or mail server") tell me that you didn't bother with the manual.

Please read it and then ask your questions.
And could you please post even bigger picture because i'm half blind. Next time use an external link and just post the link.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

I did read the wiki and check the manual. There is nothing in there to indicate how to set up the records at godaddy where my domain name is registered. I was hoping to find some guidance. So far all I get is criticism.

I changed my MX record that has a priority of 0 to point to my domain name. I didn't use my IP address, rather the name only (i.e. mydomain.net), and that has been working fine for me.

Since I have a dynamic IP address I have to use GoDaddy to send mail through so I am not blocked by some domains as a spammer. Somewhere on your email accounts page it will tell you the address to use for SMTP relaying. I believe I get 250 hops a day that came with the domain registration and can buy more if needed. You then enter that name in the SMTP Server section of the email settings page on your SME server-manager page. I don't think this step is necessary if you have a static IP...

Hope that isn't too confusing...

I found some info. on GoDaddy about SMTP Relay;
Quote
Outgoing Mail Server. smtpout.secureserver.net

Requires Authentication? Yes

User Name. This is the user name you set up on your Manage Email
Accounts page.

Password. This is the password you set up on your Manage Email
Accounts page.
So you just need to setup one email accound on GoDaddy and then tell SME to use that logon info to send mail.

Server-manager->E-mail->Change Email Delivery Settings
Enter the above info from GoDaddy in the SMTP Server section.
