New Computer Old Drives? (Solved, worked perfectly)
« on: March 17, 2007, 11:30:49 PM »
I just got access to a new (to me) computer. It is a 1.8 Mhz P4. I am currently running a P3 866 Mhz. I just put the raid 1 120 Gb 2nd hard drive into the P3, so I don't need to do  harddrive update. I distinctly recall reading a reply to a post saying that I could just plug in the old disks and reboot and after a couple of minutes SME would find its way. I know that Windows wont' do this. Was I dreaming?

Thx in advanc.

Ian

You have to know that windows isn't linux.
When i changed my motherboard on M$ i had to format my disks... well you know.... the works :) and i changed my motherboard, proc., ram almost everything and linux didn't even get a hickup.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

You know that there is a way to load on windows without re-formating everything don't you?

It is quite easy to do ... done it many times here at work as well as at home so I don't loose all the info and settings.

Follow these steps ... worked for me eveytime.
