knowledgeTree 3.1b-1 on a new server
« on: April 03, 2007, 12:46:15 AM »
I have installed knowledgeTree 3.1b-1 on a new server and it works fine. When I drop the database that it created, create a new dms database and import the dump.sql file created from another server running knowledgeTree 3.0.1 I notice that the number of tables in the new database is 151 and the number of tables in the database created by the RPM install is 163. The existing database on the other server also has 151 tables so the dump.sql is working correctly. When you copy over the backup of the data files and go into knowledgeTree with the browser the browser displays part of the code in the 'control.php' file and errors out. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
 :)

Well it's a different version and that's what you're doing wrong. Install the same version and it will work fine. Then download the new version and update it (it's explained in the KT readme).
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

Thanks for the information. Where can I locate an RPM for version 3.0.1? I inherited the server and I don't have the installation RPM's that were used. I've looked for the old version and can't find it.

Was this KT installed as a contrib or did you put it in an ibay. Because you can install it in an ibay (older versions are available at KT website) and then upgrade to the new version and export the sql file.
I don't know if there are any KT 3.0.1 contribs available.

It was installed in an ibay. I have copied the ibay on the old server to the new server, including the data, created the database and imported the sql file. It works but I can't upgrade it using yum because yum says it isn't installed. I have searched the web for all versions, even tar. I have only found version 1.1-1 and I think that will be even worse.

Did you go to knowledgetree website?
If it's installed in an ibay just copy a new version over the old and go to http://server/ibaywithkt/setup/upgrade.php
The link could also be install so check a little.
