gday

ive set up the e-smith server and everythiong is now working fine, except no1 can access the web server and ftp outside of my lan.
i have set dyndns.org to static dns, and its current ip is the correct ip.
the account is litlgordy.dyndns.org,  or litlgordy.mine.nu, (im not sure which ppl are supposed to link 2)

under hostnames and addresses, (in the server-manager),
Current list of hostnames for "litlgordy.mine.nu"
 i have ftp and www set to visibility=global, location=self

anyideas what im doing wrong??????

Check if you have setup SME as a P R I V A T E Server&Gateway, if so
that's your problem. This will close the needed ports on your external nic.
Beside this ftp can additionally be restricted thru the server-manager (remote access)

This is only effective, if you are a paying customer with ServiceLink enabled.

thanx, but no it is set to server and gateway

does dyndns.org need to be set to dynamic, or static or doesnt it matter?
im n a cable connection

That depends on your Internet Provider.... If he gives you a static IP use static for
dyndns. If he changes your IP freqently use dynamic.
