« on: April 13, 2007, 01:44:23 AM »
I know this subject has been discussed here but this ones different, I know that setting it up wont be hard, the problem i'm running into is how can i get my on board lan to work Its a nForce2 Motherboard i'm using as a sever, so if possible i would like to get the onboard lan to work instead of using another add on lan that i would need to connect an external power source to keep it poweredd for the boot from lan,

Can someone help me out as to how i can install drivers to get my onboard lan to work or point me in the right direction. Thank you very much for the help. DOKX

Ok i've done alot of googling and know the forcedeth driver is available but why doesnt Centos regognize it when i configure my server, When i try and manually select it i and reboot i cant get back into the server and i had to reinstall the software, but this last install i used the new download, what do i need to accomplish to get my onboard lan to work with the forcedeth driver, I have 5 diff, threads started on different forums and i'm not getting any answers. Anthelp would be great. DOK

Update: I finally have my onboard lan working which is great. This it what i did. I went to reconfigure the server and when i got to pick a driver for my external lan card i chose nforce2 forcedeth i then rebooted and the server came up and said the onboard lan is working. What an adventure. I tried this before but it didnt work and now it does. Also forget about installing the nvidia drivers for linux on the nforce2 board it wont install without the kernel sources. I sure hope this helps someone else out. If you need more assistance on this may as well ask on this thread. Thanks.DOKX
