I have searched this forum and found no mention of virus protection and the e-smith server. Is there a built in application or is it something that should be added. TIA.

Resistance to viruses is built into the e-smith server. You don't need to worry about virus protection of the server.

Virus protection of client machines needs to be done by installation of virus detection and cleaning software on the client machines themselves.

Virus scanning of email messages passing through the server is something that has been considered, and will probably happen in the future, but not in the near future.

Try this product from Trend. It supports Linux and I think there is a free trial available.

There are others too. My one experience with Trend hasn't been good.
But we will hopefully find a framework which will allow a choice of virus scanning products.
