Windows not remembering share password
« on: April 20, 2007, 11:53:38 PM »
I installed SME Server and it works perfectly. One Windows XP desktop (prof) can connect and remembers the password when I have the option remember password and username on.

But on my other Windows XP desktop (home) I can login. But every time I turn on the machine I have to have to login to the share with my credentials because there is not option to remember them.

This is not a SME server problem, but I hope you can help!

Thanks,
Maarten

Maarten,

Take a look at the following thread:
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=36649.0

Try those suggestions. For me, just disconnecting the share and then re-doing the "map network drive" solved my problem. In may case I had a problem a while back and then ensured all passwords and usernames aligned. However I had forgotten to disconnect and remap the drive. After I did this, it worked fine.

It puzzled me for a while as one of my computers worked fine but three others didn't. The only difference was the history in when I mapped the shares.

Good luck!
