How can I delay sending of emails ?
« on: April 27, 2007, 09:27:39 AM »
I run an SME Server 7.1.3 with no problems at my office. Recently we have had a problem with people sending emails to the wrong address and wanting to delete them before they leave the server. I have tried to catch them, but they have always left the server before I could get to them.

Is there a way that I could set up a short delay (5 minutes) before the email is sent out to prevent erroneous mails being sent.

Thanks for any advice.

Mudra.

I think you may be able to help your challenged users by altering their email CLIENT settings so that email isn't actually SENT but rather queued when they click "SEND"

That;s saved me a few times

Thanks for the tip. I have tried, but with little sucess. We use maximizer as a CRM which uses Thunderbird to send the mail. There seems to be no way of setting it to default to queue the email and then send them later. If we were writing the mails in Thunderbird then we could use the send later extension.

Any ideas on how to get round this would be great.

Mike gave you the only possible way.
Well another would be to check and recheck before sending.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!
