Topic: test internet access fails

I'm able to ping contribs.org ( resolves to 74.96.98.243 ) and everything seems to be working, EXCEPT the admin screen test

wondered if this is a feature of my sainted ISP or is it repeated at other sites?

If you can ping other sites trough your server then you should have no problem.

P.S.:I think that the server is down (or something similar) because i have problems testing access too but my server works just fine.

This morning (mst -7) the server was down until very recently (~6:30-10am).

before raising a bug, I wanted confirmation from other users that they couldn't "test" either, which I now have received,
PLUS
someone to explain why ping and forums work that's different from  "test" which I had assumed was a page at the contribs site....

Sounds like a bug, but someone closer to the servers may have an explanation..

Sure no worries, but to be honest your more likey to get that answer via a opened bug report if a potential bug as they will see it more than probing thru the forums.
