Install this contrib from Dungog ang set the path for each of your users:
http://sme.dungog.net/packages/smeserver/7.0/i386/RPMS.dungog/smeserver-remoteuseraccess-1.2-12.noarch.rpm

The best you can do is add the dungog repository to your repositories as mentioned on the dungog website and then use yum instead of rpm. yum installs the dependencies as well... (not for rpm)

I think you have to use the chroot option in the panel, but not sure about that because I don't use it...

Because you used yum install command which resolved and download the missing dependencys from SME repository (as it should).
That's why users should use yum not rpm which is outdated. That would install meserver-remoteuseraccess-1.2-12.noarch.rpm without any dependancy problems.
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

I'm not talking about the installation, I'm talking about the functionality that the poster says it's not working!

Well i don't quite understand him but i think that it works for him the only problem is that the user can get to the other ftp folders which bothers him.
