SAIL MOH with a SPA2000
« on: May 21, 2007, 04:16:40 AM »
Hi All,

Does anyone know how I can enable music on hold for a Panasonic handset connected via a SPA2000? The handset has a hold button but when I pess it the caller doesn't get any music. I have tried looking at the settings in both SAIL and the SPA2000 but I can't see any thing there. As usual any help is appreciated

Regards,
Del

Hi Del

Not easy.  The Panasonic is probably doing some kind of local hold which neither the SPA nor Asterisk knows anything about.

You can varify this by watching the asterisk console or running tethereal but I'm almost 100% sure that no SIP packets will flow when you press hold on the Panasonic.

Hi Selintra,

Now I am thinking about it :D you are probably right, the Panasonic will be doing something that Asterisk and SPA don't know about, how else could the panasonic put calls on hold if it was connected directly to a telco line
Thanks anyhow.
