is it possible to create additional address books eg: customer and vendor contacts in each seperate global address books?

and is there any shared calander feature?

Yes to both.  You can create additional address book and if you install the smeserver-kronolilth and associated packages additional calendars and share them.  Here is a link to the various announcements above that talk about the shared address books. http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=35959.0.  Do a - rpm -qi e-smith-turba --changelog | more - to view how to do this for turba.  It's available right away with kronolith.
