SME7 Raid (again)
« on: June 02, 2007, 07:22:52 AM »
I have searched the forums and not found any useful solution to my problem.

I replaced the drive in one of my servers by adding a second drive, enabling the raid and letting it rebuild. That was all good.

I have dumped the old drive and am back to a single drive system but am now being deluged with messages from mdam about a degraded array and cannot find a way to revert the config back to a single drive system.

Anyone please ??

Thanks

When you say you are deluged with messages, do you mean emails, or are you reading the logs and seeing the entries there? If just in the logs, never mind. SME expects 2 disks and RAID1, and considers a single disk system to be a degraded RAID1 array.

If it is emails, then ....Hmmmm...can't help you there. Hope someone else can.

BTW, why get rid of the second disk?....RAID1 is a great safety net.

Cheers
Ian

The messages are system generated emails coming from the raidmonitor.

I agree, raid is a great feature. For the purpose I use this server it, raid just does not suite me.

# config setprop raidmonitor status disabled

followed by a reboot should put a stop to the messages

maybe a simple "service raidmonitor stop" may do the trick without rebooting
