One idea - You haven't entered the right username and password.

try changing the login name and password in phpmyadmin.

hope this helps.

1.  Make sure you are using dmc-mitel-phpmyadmin-2.2.3-1.noarch.rpm
2.  Point your browser to https://yourserverIP/phpmyadmin -- the httpS is important.
3.  Login using your "admin" username and password.

If the that doesn't work, rpm -e the package and install it again, making sure you didn't get any errors.

Well,
I had done the whole thing before this thread was created. I still can not connect !
As I do not have any site or datas on the server, only scripts I am testing sometimes, should I consider upgrading (fully, replacing 5.0 with up4) to 5.1,
and reinstalling phpmyadmin after that ?
Php My admin is not the need, but mysql is still not accepting any connection from scripts, and the passwords (the .conf's, also found in LDAP,the root's) do not work at all ... And yesterday, I found that the console login in mysql is not working anymore either !
I can not give up, I need the mysql to work. Someone from conceptors help me, please ...

here is transcript of the phpmyadmin error :
- MySQL a répondu:

Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

And this is also the message I get on the console, beeing logged as root !!!

Where am I doing wrong ?
