« on: June 10, 2007, 01:17:44 AM »
Hello everyone,

I have researching and sruggling to make eGroupware read from SME LDAP and write to SME LDAP and am having no success.

Has anyone done this?

Can anyone get me started?

Thanks

Don't remember where I read it, but SME don't store what we need in LDAP so LDAP auth in eGroupWare cannot be used!
Use IMAP auth which is really working great.

I highly encourage people who wants to have eGroupWare to use Berdie's rpm version. This is the same install as my howto and all is ready... It's painless and all you have to do is creating the admin password !
See the wiki page for more details... And download from here

Hope it helped!

Yes I believe that is true. Passwords are not stored in LDAP. We too use IMAP auth, and it does work nicely, but, it does not pull in the users details (name, etc) from SME. Which would be nice.

What I am trying to do however is only read and write the egroupware address book in LDAP. I have seen several posts in other forums about this working with openLDAP (which is installed in SME).

I just have not be able to put together the steps to get it to work.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

There is a NFR for this, see bug 1543.
I don't know if voting is taken into account by the devs but you could try to vote for it.
