Topic: hardware decision 3 TerraByte

Hi,

I like to know your experience to get a hardware decision.
A Friend like to use sme 7.1 and he has a lot of data (3 TerraByte).

Now i am searching relatively low priced hardware to store the 3 TerraByte.
Maybe we can use hot-plugable SATA-hdd´s in a rack-server ?

What i don´t  know especially is a well supported SATA Controller, Raid 1 for the System and Raid 0 for the user-data.

Any suggestions ??
