I have in the past been logged into the domain even if not locally connected when I start my PC up but I have just had it repaired and don't want to have to be on the domain. From my understanding I should be able to connect to another machine via VPN even if my machine is on a workgroup, is this correct? I am working from home more now & would prefer to have only one (local) user name rather than be on the domain as I can get at the files via the IP of a machine & user name. Do I have to change settings on my (XP) machine or on hte server to be able to acheive this?
