« on: July 24, 2007, 05:54:59 AM »
Dear All.
I have domain abc.com point to host 1.2.3.4 at hosting provider.
My office running SME Server 7.1.3 with Server and Gateway mode and ADSL suport.
when email come in it deliver to ip 1.2.3.4 and stay at host.
My SME using fetchmail to retrived those mail from host. It woring fine.
But when some user want to traveling. I stop fetchmail to get email from host only his account. External email still there he can get it from host 1.2.3.4
Problem is about internal email. When we send email to him it keep in SME Server. How to deliver to him at host 1.2.3.4
I try to setup at fetchmail config to delivery as remote mail and type his email xxx@abc.com but SME Server try to deliver to itseft. because SME Server also have domain abc.com as itseft.
Does anybody seen this solution.

You could set the traveling user up with a GMail account and forward all the SME email to that account; you can set the GMail account to use the SME email address as the reply address so his recipients won't even know the difference.  If your user isn't comfortable with GMail you can set up his/her email client to use POP3 with GMail after making the appropriate settings change in GMail.

Other solution:  have user establish VPN connection to SME server, then download email as normal.

Other other solution:  I think it's possible to allow POP3 access from the Internet but don't know the exact commands.

Another solution: use the built-in SME webmail while traveling...
