Is there a way to disable a users e-mail, but retain use of their home directory?

I have searched the forums and can not find anything on if this can be done.

I created an account on the server as a test.
Sent it e-mail to ot's real address, and aliases, it went through as expected.

Locked the account, sent the mails again, they still went to the users mailbox (looking in their maildir w/ PuTTy)

Deleted the account, sent an e-mail, got the Mailer Daemon re no acct.
Any assistance greatly appreciated, we have about 40 users who are still staying on this server, so need their home folders, however we need to delete their existing email accts on the server so any mail sent to that address acts as though the user does not exist.

Thanks,

You can go to the user's account and change:

Email Delivery: Forward email to address below

Then put a non-existant username in the box such as return_to_sender or user_no_longer_here or whatever and it will bounce the message back.
In life, you must either "Push, Pull or Get out of the way!"

Why do some things that seem so hard, have to be so simple...
Thank you so much!
