I'm migrating from Windows SBS 2003 to SME Server 7.2.

The SME was installed as server only (Domain Controller) and is used as a file/applications server.
All clients use Windows XP SP2.

All shares are working and all users can log to the domain without problems... but for some odd reason they don't have permission to read/write in the local folder "windows/tmp", it wouldn't be a problem if one off the applications didn't use that path to store previsualization files.

I can walk-around if I allow all authenticated users locally... but isn't there a easier way?

According to Google with 'windows/tmp permission' there could multiple reasons, most of them related to windows itself.

Do a search on this forum for Domain Admins and Domain Users groups. 

It sounds as though the sme users do not have sufficient rights on the windows machines.  Generally I have found Windoze programs are not very happy to play ball as anything less than  power users.  Essentially you need to add the sme users to the windows user policies.

So true, I had to give total control to all "authenticated user" (less problems in the future).
