I have just bought a dell workstation with Vista. I have a sme 7.2 server and gateway with all updates. My printing is via the sme-server. I have had several blue-screens with vista and also found out that xcopy now is replaced with robocopy, funny name.
My problem one is that printing from vista is very very slow and vista has difficulties showing the print-box on the screen. I have read on this forum that a similar xp-problem is waiting for a upgrade of Samba on the sme. But maybe some body else have met the same problem with vista and have found a workaround?
My problem two is a little strange. I have a laptop with XP and when I have logged in with my username on both Vista and laptop-xp it seems to work alright. But when I put my old xp-workstation on the network also logged in with my username (3 simultaneous sessions from same user) then the sme-server is beginning to work so hard that it is almost impossible to come in contact with it and give it “init 6”. When I look in the log files it looks as the memory has been filed up so it is using the cpu to close down processes. Any suggestions to what this is about?
