Spam Stats

Is there a simple way to see what the stats of the spam filter are? Eg, What percentage is spam vs normal mail. And maybe even the average score.

Yes, have a look here.

Or take a look at /var/log/qpsmtpd/state

SME 7.2 introduced support for the qpsmtpd plugin 'logterse' and the accompanying script 'qplogsumm.pl'.

'qplogsumm.pl' runs automatically as part of the logging process (I think whenever the logs are rotated) and updates /var/log/qpsmtpd/state with the latest results including percentages of email handled by all handlers mentioned in the log file.

Here's another link on how to get email stats: http://wiki.contribs.org/Email_Statistics

None of these give you your average spam score, as far as I know.

Cacuts thanks, that is soo cool! I was wondering why they removed that feature from the old add on in 6.5. I didn't know such a think existed for v7.

Mmccarn, thanks that's really handy. And SME had this built in all along... you'd think they'd make it a bit more obvious. But it's still easy to use.

The email that is generated by the way cactus suggested, gives the spam score and also average ham score.

It's a bit of an eye opener, I didn't realized how much rubbish my users were receiving.
