Install from Hard disk

I am trying to install esmith 5.1.2 from a hard drive. The problem is that it starts off and then comes up with a error message which I am invited to save and send off to esmith..

Any thoughts/ gotcha's I need to know about before I do this???

1. Downloaded ISO image
2. Used ISO extracting programme to write image to HD formatted with FAT (under windows)
3. Booted from esmith boot disk  and choose to install from Hard drive
4. Found right partition with esmith directories

The base and esmith directories look OK. In case they needed to be at the root I ran the install again with base and esmith directores at the root but then the install programme wouldn't even accept that, it couldn't find an esmith install at all.

Hmmmmm

I am keen to install this way as either my CD of e-smith is corrupted or my CD drive is flakey. I have checked the image I used against the checksum and its OK.

If this is the error message about anaconda, the problem may not be the hard disk install, but simply your hardware.  I have one machine that WILL NOT allow e-smith to install, despit the fact that the hardware is quite ordinary in pretty much all respects.  I had the same problem with both 4.x and 5.x, but switching to an older machine allowed both the load just fine.
