Topic: Simple request, server-manager.

Hello,

 I'm sure this shouldn't be hard to do, but where are the files stored for the server-manager itself?

 Reason I ask, is that the Software Installer windows comes in very small, and I would just like to expand the scroll list another 10-20
 lines, just to make it easier to read.

 I can do the code change, I'm just not sure WHERE the code is stored for that.

 Any suggestions/pointers on where to look ?

Why not raise a New Feature Request and attach what code you would apply. Thanks.

To help you get started, the code is located in /etc/e-smith/web/panels/manager/cgi-bin/yum ...

BTW I am wondering how big your screens are

The screen that I see is about 4 lines and say... 50 characters wide.  Reality is, on a 19" LCD screen, this amounts to a box the size of... a matchbook, maybe a little bigger.
 VERY annoying to try and view all the possible installs/updates that are available to install.

  Sorry about sounding Tart, but sometimes the "RTFM" type responces are just annoying, and immature.
  For alot of people, like myself, getting pointed in the general direction is all I ask for to get started, once pointed, I will try my hardest to figure it out on my own,
  if I still cannot figure it out, I will post what I have found, and ask for clarification. After that, once the "project" is done, I will always post how the problem was resolved.

 Besides, what the heck else are technical forums for?!?   Exactly the above statment.

 Thank you very much cactus for directing me where to look, once I have some time in the next few days, I'll post back what I have found, and if I get what I wanted to change,
 working... then I'll post it as a permanent patch following the methods in the dev's guide.

The language is "Perl FormMagic".

And not a RTFM answer, but the "Developers Manual" has actually the info you asked for ..,

Reason I pointed you to the New Feature Request is that so we can see if it's just your situation that you find the text too small or if it's generally too small, if you posted a NFR we could have helped you and had discussion to include in base. Shame Matsk took that to be bad advice

 Besides, my past experience with these kind of situations, since the problem I am looking at is very minor in the bigger scope of things, I doubt this would get corrected
 for quite some time, or it would delayed until the next major update to SME.

 I would like to fix this now, without the delays.  Which is why I am willing to do the leg work to get me going, and THEN I'll post it to an NFR for permanency, and I could show
 what I did to simplify the work for anybody else.

 I apologise for the rant, but sometimes answers like that get to me. Either way, I would rather work WITH anybody here, then against, so I will refrain from letting myself rant again.

Well byte, had you put it THAT way, I probably would have played along, however your initial cold shoulder answer, didn't leave me with much to follow up with.

That is how I put most of my replies and always with a "Thanks" if you have seen me post in past you wouldn't have taken it as a cold shoulder answer. I can see how sometimes a forum post could interpret being a cold shoulder but that is never the case in my replies.

Are your unning the latest version of SME Server? I vaguely remember a bug that was resolved in SME Server 7.2 increasing the size of this box...
