I desperately need some help, I'm still a newbie at this so be gentle,,
Our company is running SME server and done so now for approx. 5years with no real drama
In the last 3-6months we have been have email dramas, People are saying they have sent emails that either are being receiving or there bouncing back to the sender. With messages like
'Socket connection closed by the other side'
' Winsock Error 10053 Connection abort' and
' Cannot find domain'
This problem does not happen all the time, we still get 90% of email through, so we thought it may be a traffic problem, or possibly a corruption on the server. but have been monitoring now for a couple of weeks and does seem excessive traffic, and i have rebuilt the server twice and still having the same problem, but it is getting worse.
Thinking it may be our firewall which is causing this problem,, [Cisco PIX Firewall]
I don't want to go out and buy a new firewall if its not the problem.
Being such an intermittent problem i don't know how to tackle.
If anyone has any ideas of how to monitor or find the cause of the problem can you please help..
