conf and park breaks astrerisk
« on: September 20, 2007, 09:39:31 AM »
SME 7.2, SAIL 2.1.15-502
1 sip trunkline
6 SIP internal extensions 5000-5005
3 softphones, 1 thomson ST2030, one Linksys PAP2 with 2 analog phone (one fixed, one mobile)

When I'm trying to park an incomming call from the fixed analog phone (from outside or internal), I dial #*5, I wait for the park extension used (let's say 1000), and I hang up.
When I'm trying to retrieve the parked call from another phone, I dial 1000 and then nothing.

At this moment, I realize that all extensions are shutdown, and I have to reboot SME to get this back normally.

Idem with conference.

How can I fix and troubleshoot this ?

Thanks !
Edd

I'm not sure you can.  I think that this is a 2.1.15/1.4 bug.  I really would recommend you run 2.1.14 with asterisk 1.2 for the moment.  We intend to give 2.1.15/1.4 some serious attention in the autumn/fall, but until then, we would only recommend 2.1.14/1.2 for production.

Kind Regards

Hey there,
now I just re-install the whole thing to the 2.1.14.507, parking calls works a bit better.
I receive a call, during the call I dial #*5, it forwards the incomming call to a nice waiting music, it gives me the parking Extension (let's say 1000) and it hangs up.
Which everything seems fine,

but,
The call I parked is hanging up after 30sec, the panel operator is showing this also...

any way of changing this ?

Thank you
Edd

This is not correct behaviour.  Something is not quite right.  It should hold the call for up to 5 minutes and then call-back the original extension which parked the call.

I have just tried this on our reference system and it works fine.  However, I've had a field report from a customer in UK who reports the same problem as you.

Let me look into this for you.

Kind Regards

HI

How are you initiating the park (what keys are you pressing?)

Can we see the console output?

Thanks

for initiating, I just dial over the current call #*5, and wait for the parking extension number to be said.

For the console...how can I see that ?

OK,

This appears to be a problem with Asterisk 1.2.20 (or with our version of it).  I managed to simulate the problem on a 1.2.20 reference system here.  We've just put up a 1.2.24 version and cannot recreate the problem on that release.

Worst case, we'll whistle up a 1.2.24 rpm over the weekend.

thx

S
