supervision
« on: September 27, 2007, 11:56:36 AM »
hEllo there, (it's the question day)

I have a SIP Phone (Thomson ST2030), with 10 programmable function keys.

I'd like to affect each key to supervision of each internal extensions.
I mean, for example, for F3 key, I'd like to see extension 5003 activity, the key is blinking when the extension 5003 is ringing, the key is lighting when extension 5003 is online, etc.

How can I achieve this ?

regards,
Edd

HI

You'll need to get hold of an administration guide for your phone and understand how (or if) it manages BLF (Busy Lamp Facility).  SARK is already set up to report busy lamp status to any extension that asks so you don't need to do anything on the SARK/Asterisk side for it to work.

Not all SIP phones have BLF capability so you may be disappointed.  SARK has on-board provisioning BLF support for all Aastra, Snom, (shortly Polycomm) and Linksys phones.

Sorry we can't be of more help but we don't know the Thomson unit.  We don't think it is marketed in UK.

Kind Regards

S

I look forward to seeing that for the Linksys phones Jeff. I've played around with it as is and keep breaking the phones so I eventually gave up.

Do you know... I don't think we've ever tried to do BLF for Linksys/Sipura.  All of our customers have either Snoms or Aastras and they are dead easy to do.  We do have a copy of the fabled Linksys/Sipura provisioning guide (the one we aren't supposed to let anyone see).  If you tell us what you want to do then we might be able to whistle up a config for you.
