Smoothwall > SME Server
« on: September 27, 2007, 02:14:00 PM »
Hello, This question is probably basic for most and I have looked and not really found what I am looking for.

My current config:
                               / Sme Server
Smoothwall > Switch <
                               \ Pc's

Not the greatest diagram but you get the idea. What I would like to know is this, Even with the smoothwall in place of the sme firewall, can I still use it to host my domain? Is there any special config for email? I'm in server-only mode so I wasn't sure if I could still get away with it. Any documentation would be great I just apparently couldn't find it.

Thanks,

Mike

There is nothing special you need to do except set up port forwarding on your router (Smoothwall). Web port 80, SMTP (email) 25, just point them to your SME box. This configuration is no different to having a hardware router/modem in place of smooth wall.
