Topic: Netgear TA612V router (2x FXS) & Sail

Has anybody had complete success with this sip router. I have followed the example at http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/netgear_broadband_voice_adapter_ta612v.html and I have the second line registering but the first failing with 'Username/auth name missmatch'. In extensions both entries are identical except for the Username/secret being TA612A/5010 & TA612B/5011.

I also noticed the 'Operator Panel' only displays 5 charactors of the Username. Are the two linked & how could we display more?

Current version is 2.1.14-507 on ServerGateway utilising X-ten softphones, Linksys SPA3102 and this router for a cordless & fax.

Even some help in diagnosing this router would be appreciated.

Hi

Nothing at all looks unusual with this router/ata.  All of the sip registration is completely standard.  If the line isn't registering and asterisk is telling you that there is a username/authname mismatch, then it's 100% certain that there really is a username/authname mismatch.  You need to check your coding.  The device behaves like two completely separate extensions so you will need to create two extensions in SAIL.

As to the 5 character name length in the operator panel, there is only room for 5 characters at the extension density we have chosen for SAIL (we wanted to show100 extensions but it only handles 90-some).   It has nothing to do with your problem.  If you want to change this then you will have to read up on FOP to understand how it works and then change the values in the operator.conf files (which in turn are created by templates in SAIL, so you will have to read up on SME templating also).   

You can find the templates in /etc/e-smith/templates/usr/local/operator/.

Thank you Selintra.

I wasn't sure if the two symptoms were linked. After updating the firmware (which is no longer available from Netgear) to 1.273 obtained from an Irish site - Blue comes to mind (I'm Australian and bless their little hearts) both ports registered correctly without having to alter the settings. Bloody software problems - firmware!

I'll look at the templates for the FOP so I can understand things a bit easier.
