Hey Sonoracom! Here' a SAIL release for you.

Hi all,

Finally got 'round to implementing the excellent work which Sonoracom did with Polycom provisioning.  You can find 2.1.14-526 and 2.2.1-527 up on the ftp site at ftp://selintra.co.uk.

Incidentally, these new releases include provisioning for Cisco 79xx devices as well.

Oh, and we've implemented a new provisioning keyword $mac (as opposed to $MAC) which will substitute a lower case mac address instead of an upper case one (see it in the Polycom provisioning template).

We've also implemented substitution variable $localip for "descriptor" provisioning files.  Check out the Polycom provisioning file "sip.cfg" to see how it works.

Let us know how you get on if you have any Polycoms.

Kind Regards

S

Thanks!  I'll be testing this the next chance I get and I'll send feedback.

BTW, that FTP address seems to require a username/password...  Is that correct?

I haven't gotten to the testing yet, but I installed 2.1.14-529 and updated my howto:

The one feature I tested appears not to be in this release.  I was hoping to see the CLID and Tagging updates, but I suspect they are not destined for the 2.1.14 series, true?  If that's so, I'll just have to wait until 2.2.x goes Gold...

It looks like you folks have been busy adding lots of new hardware provisioning support.  I look forward to testing a few devices.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Hi G

The CLIP/TAG stuff is in 2.2.  We think it could be backported but it's a fair bit of work.  If the 1.4/2.2 testing continues to go well we won't back port.  If we hit problems then maybe...

:-)
