« on: November 11, 2007, 08:57:29 PM »
Hello!

I have the SME Server 7.2 installed as a Server and Gateway, connected thru a speedtouch 510 in bridge mode.

Everithing is OK except that the clients do not get ip, even with fix ip i can“t ping the server or the clients from the server.

The DHCP server is running but no ip on clients.

We already test the cards and its OK.

The access to the internet are also OK,

MODEM conf.
ip: 10.0.X.XXX
No DHCP

SERVER Conf.
Server and Gateway dedicated
Server IP: 192.168.X.XX
Ip range: 192.168.X.XX to 192.168.X.XX
DHCP Running

CLIENTS
Windows XP
automatic IP adress

Theres anybody who can help?

Thanks in advance.

I have a couple SME servers that will not detect the network cards correctly unless the network cable is connected and providing a valid 'link' when the server is first powered up.  If I boot these systems w/ no network cable  connected, I get behaviour such as you are describing.

If you haven't tried it yet, make sure everything is connected (LAN and WAN) then shutdown and TURN OFF (power down) the SME, then turn it back on.

Once my systems have booted up I can move network cables around, reconfigure IP addresses, etc. with no problems.
